I just treated my water for an ammonia problem after adding some rock
I shut off my skimmer while the 24 hour treatment was going on and now i plugged it in only to find out that the part on top that traps the bad stuff just keeps filling up with clean water quickly I have emptied it twice now in the passed 15 minutes what do i do?

Turn the skimmer down, it is trying to remove the treatment. This is normal.
Run carbon on the system to help. Next time you should let the rock cure outside of the tank. I would do a water change and keep up with them for a bit. I don't know of any treatment that instantly cycles rock, the ammonia will probably be back as its coming from dead organisms on the rock

water change and carbon.
Dumping it back into the tank isnt helping. Replace it with fresh saltwater. The skimmer is removing the treatment. I assume its adjustable via the air intake.

air intake is just a tube with tiny holes at end....no adjustment......I did a 15 gallon water change and it slowed down but still filling up.........how do i run carbon in my tank from my 10 gallon refugium. all i have in there is a 1/2 inch of live sand from my tank. 1 pound of like rock and a ball of chaeto.
I have a cannister filter but I am not hooking that back up again. It has new carbon in it how do i use the carbon in my canister in my refugium without having to hook that thing up to my tank again. I was told to get rid of the canister all together so i need to find a way to get carbon filtration into my system/refugium?

raise the collection cup up higher in the body. i believe the normal setting of the cup is something like an 1/8 " above water. so try moving it up so the bottom of the cup is like an 1" above the water

Do you not have an o-ring around the collection cup or is it just all the way up? You can also get an air valve for the airline on the intake to adjust it.
The carbon goes into a media bag. |

o ring is around the collection cup.....it just keeps filling up. I disconnected it so I could go to sleep. I am calling CPR's customer service tomorrow to see if they can help. I am running only the powerhead and refugium for filtration. Where do I get media bags from?
I wanna shove as much filtration media into the 10g refugium as I can, so any other suggestions, let me know?

You need to make sure the air intake is working and it is not forming a cavity in the powerhead....
Either shake the powerhead around or blow into the air intake tube. |

as others have said, water changes will help remove the treatment more quickly (so that it doesn't have to go through your skimmer). Also good for your tank if you having ammonia issues.
If you don't have a media bag for carbon, maybe you have some cheese cloth in the kitchen you could tie up together? You're just looking for something to hold the media together while allowing water to flow between the media. Media bags are easily accessible at most aquatics/pet store for a few bucks)...worth having a few of these things around imo. |

im assuming you have the o ring on the collection cup as far down on the cup as it will go, so the collection cup is as high as it can be??
obvious, but just thought i would mention it. |

Messed with the o-ring (the tech support recommended that as well....thanks koraltek)
he also recommended to put the air line into the water for now to stop the collection in the protein skimmer rather than shut it off completely while I'm not home....that way, the bio filter will still run. i went and picked up some media bags from my lfs and filled it with carbon so i can hang it in my refugium. I am out of salt and can't pick any up until Friday for more water changes....so the 15 gallon change will have to suffice till then. thanks for all your help! any other suggestions more than welcome....thanks again
