Why is my skimmer doing this ?

I have a Berlin skimmer and for some reason every now and then it will start dumping clean water into the overfill. I even made my overfill cup bigger but still every now and then I will walk by my fish tank and half a gallon of water will be on my floor.

I am getting sick of it and don't even want to imagine how much water this thing will dump on my floor if I was not at home to stop it.

Any idea why it is doing this and what I can do to stop it ??

I would guess that it has to do with feeding or putting your hand in the tank? That the water tension is changing.

Thay do make shut off float valves so that it will shut off your pump when the skimmer cup get full.
