Unhappy my fishys died :( i dont know why

my tank is fairly new only a few months old. i have/had 2 clown fish one yellow tail damsel, cleaner shrimp, an anemone and chocolate chip starfish. the damsel was the first tester fish he survived so i kept him and the clowns hadnt bothered him until this last week he wasnt in good shape and i didnt expect him to last much longer...this morning he was missing. but what did shock me was that one of my clowns was down too, i had noticed that this one was hiding alot lately but thought nothing of it today i found i on the bottom with the starfish feasting on it. all of the others seem to be doing fine but i dont know why the clown went.

To Reef Central

Are you familiar with the ammonia cycle?
Have you tested you water parameters?

^^^^^ +1

Also, your tank is WAY too young to have an anemone. It will likely perish in time. These are very delicate animals that generally do well only in mature, stable tanks.

and if none of these questions make sense to you and you're lost, read the two * (sticky) threads at the top of this forum: it's the condensed version of our best advice collected into two long but very helpful files. THink of it as a free "How to" book.

sounds like no skimmer was used or not enought water/air exchange or gills burning up from too much alakalinity.
