Chiller Diagnosis Needed!!!

Hey guys, I think my Chiller is injured or dieing! If you don't already know I have a 90 reef with 75 sump. I'm circulating approx. 135 gals in my system. I have a Prime Chiller1/10 hp made by Current USA. I know it's rated for 75-80 gal systems. I bought it when I only had 90 and was told it would be fine since I only run 520 watts PC lighting. This was 2 years ago.

Last night the chiller started to scream whenever it would kick on. It almost sounds like a bearing going bad. Not sure if these things have bearings or not. So, I unplugged it along with 1 of 2 skimmers, 1 of 2 UV steralizers and any other unecessary device. Box fans running to keep temp down.

I need any input you guys can give me. Can this be serviced? is it like a refridgeerator? Can it be taken to a repair shop? Any one experience such a thing??? Any advice will be helpful!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Steve

mm949, you hit the nail on the head! Took it apart, gave it a shot of WD40. Now it's purring like a kitten!

Thanks,
Steve
