Just to let you know, last December when I go on leave, I have a power trip for about 17hours. All of my coral survive, I only have soft coral, but I lost 10 fish, only 6 fish survive. The fish survive is a 2 ocellaris olownfish, 1 mandarin, 1 green chromis, 2 tomato clownfish. I not sure how all this fish can survive for 17hours without water movements.
It can be sure some of the fish can be survive for long hours without power but some can’t, and most of the soft coral can be survive, but I don’t know what is the time limit.

For short power outages, you can consider a battery-operated air pump. But for longer outages, you'll probably need a UPS device. Even if you're running a UPS, you might think about just running a few powerheads that draw low wattage. Running a watt-guzzling return pump might not get you much time with a UPS.
