Question about copper treatment.

Hi,

Ok I will try to make the story short.

I upgrade and move my tank. During moving apparently my Blue tang get stress and got ick. As soon as i can, i remove the B. tang from DT to a 10g last minute quarentine tank. I treat the fish with copper after a lot of reading and a lot of fear. I think my QT tank is too short on equipment and too little to let the tang too much time on it. He has been there for a week now. I'm thinking on moving him back to the DT. And here comes my Question how do i move him? Did i have to dip him on clear (without copper) salt water first? If i move him directly i think it may leave residues of copper on the main tank.

And also do you think is a good idea to move him so soon?

Thanks for all the help!!

I think he's been in there long enouph. a blue tank in a 10g tank will get stressed, and a stressed fish will get sicker whether he is in copper treatment or not. I think you are good to move him back. dipping him in some tank water dilute the copper is a good idea and i think you should do it if it's not too much trouble. don't worry too much about tiny amounts of copper making it into your tank. it will probably be way to minute to do any damage. just run some carbon a little more agresively for a few days.
