Cleaning Tank

Hey folks,

Setting up a new system in my new house. I had a 90 gal tank that I used as a display in my old house. It's going to become the sump at the new place.

I installed all the baffles this week, and am now getting ready to clean it before installing.

I was planning to use hot water and vinegar.

Any other suggestions on what can safely be used to clean this tank? I want to get it really clean, but don't want to use anything that could compromise the system.

Thanks!

Dave

yep, you're on the right track. If you're going to fill it, usually I'll do a 1 part vinegar to 5 parts water or so, and then run a pump to circulate the mix around a bit in the sump (maybe a hose to push water from one section to the others, and then back.

Or an old credit card will make a great scraper. Like the others said vinegar and water will work wonders.
