Who needs a laundry room?
I'm super close to filling my 220 and wanted to share the build with everyone. I think I have photobucket figured out? Anyway, this project has been about a year in the making and all ready encountered a zillion roadblocks. First, we were moving and I had the 350, but that didn't work out so I got the 220 and started searching for a place in my tiny house to set it up. I convinced my wife that the laundry room was the best spot and we could put a stackable washer/dryer in the bathroom. At first she agreed but then realized it would be a huge job to demo the laundry room so told me to set it up in the living room. I was instantly busy making a stand. http://i518.photobucket.com/albums/u...n/dcp_0082.jpg
When she saw how much space it took up she changed her mind so the demo began. http://i518.photobucket.com/albums/u...klown/ceii.jpg After two weeks of screwing around with this space and running all of the lines to the washer/dryer, I've found that the space available is 3" shy of accomodating the stand I made!? With a little alteration to the stand, we should be good though. Ready for paint and tank http://i518.photobucket.com/albums/u...n/dcp_0110.jpg Here's a list of the equipment I'll be running: -220 gal perfecto cornerflow rr tank with custom poplar/birch stand -72" fixture with three 250's, pc's and lunar lights -Right now I have an all glaas megaflow4 sump but would like something better -mrc mr-4 protein skimmer powered by a panworld 200 pump -mrc cr-2 reactor setup -two 3/4" seaswirls which will be plumbed into the return split of another panworld 200 -two om 4-way's on closed loops (I will be drilling) each powered by reeflo darts I've wired two 20amp recepticles and have an eight spot dj board for each (hope this is enough). Also plan on making live rock with base rock and great stuff foam insulation. I have a ton of work to do but have come a long way! Hoping to get some water in the tank by august!? Comments? questions? I'll try to update the progess regularly if there is interest

Sounds awesome!
The only thing I could say is make sure you use plenty of base rock on your eventual foam faux-rock creation. I had a hell of time keeping mine down because I skimped on the rock and eventually tossed it. Good luck! |

looks good. I see 2 holes for the closed loop, you still have to do the others? or you got a trick up your sleeve? Also, how in the world are you going to get the other equipment in that space?!?

There's actually 15" behind the stand to cram the rest of the equipment. the two holes are the drains that go directly to darts which will power the om's. Returns will be plumbed behind and above the tank.
