Show me your plumbing!!
Looking for ideas for a nice, neat plumbing setup with lots of ball valves so equipment is easily removed for cleaning and repairs. I tried to search and could not find what I was looking for. Please post your pics here. Thanks.

Most of my plumbing work is on pg. 1
http://www.canreef.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=28436 Looking back, I wish I had placed a union ball valve at the ends of every single section of pipe so that I could easily replace entire sections....or even modify a section. Now that the tank is full and running, it will be quite difficult to cut into any pipe, if I ever wanted to. I hope it gives you some ideas.

it would help if you listed what exactly you are trying to plumb........I probably have a decent example of a decent way to do it somewhere as I have set up more than just a few systems for myself and others......
here are a few of the CLS I have built....

Thanks for the pics
here is what I am plumbing: 1. Dialyseas 2. Carbon Reactor 3. Phosban Reactor 4. Kalk Reactor 5. CA Reactor 6. UV Light 7. External Reeflo250 skimmer I notice a lot of people tap into their return line to run equipment. Any problem with the loop that creates...i.e. you are recyling the water back to the sump so in theory you are not as efficient as some of the water that is being processed through the equipment is not making it to the display? Thanks!

Thanks mdrumm
All plumbing used is GF George Fisher. I install large Industiral RO/DI systems for a living. So I figured I would do my build with the same plumbing. To answer your question I get all my plastics from Ryan Herco.... Thanks, |

flexpvc.com if you want a reasonably priced plumbing supply place that has most everything you will need
im obviously a big fan of flex, and use it everywhere a perfectly straight run isnt required, as well as feel if you know how to use the bends in your favor it cant really be done any better in performance or appearance. I do however REALLY like racenrichs pipe bender

Here is my most recent photo. I did a lot more last night as it is still in the setup process.
I kept everything on quick disconnects and went all ball valve rather than gate valve for reliability reasons "most will never have an issue ever with a gate valve, however in the industry I am in, we see a much higher failure rate on them than standard ball valves" Now when I say failure, I mean slow drips or water seeping over extended periods of time in industrial situations which I did not want to chance. So do not take offence or start up a vs. debate if you use them, just not my choice. I also have ball valves or locline ball valves on all outlets to control flow or increase line pressure to help feed other ports in the system. I added in 2 spare ports - One for quick water changes as in the photo - Another for flow to the future twin phosban reactors. The ball valve in the center of the manifold directs water to an external 20L display fuge, I plumbed in a return for it last night which is not shown. I tried to keep 90 degree angles out of the system were I could, but not possible in a lot of situations. On the 20L 3/4 return from the fuge, I managed 0 right angles which was cool. Not that it really matters a lot, but just trying to be technical. I also did my best to hardline everything in except for about 6" from the pump to the hardlines to keep down vibration, also did soft lines to the external fuge as I could not reasonably use hardlines on those areas.
