just found this guy anybody know what kind he is before I put him back in.

Its a sundial snail, its a zoa predator, dont put it back in your tank if you have any zoanthids, for a better id look up sundial snails and compare them really good, good luck

I was afraid of that I recently purchased a batch of zoos that looked great in thstore but in my tank they got to looking bad real fast not openning sick looking I took them out and put them in the quartine tank for observation. may be this was the problem

This isn't a sundial snail. It's Collonista, which is a harmless grazer.
The slug is your problem.

This is the sundial you need to worry about. Melevs site has a nice id chart that will show lots of the common things you may find..

darn I cought the snail not the slug and have not seen him for several days but will remove him at next sighting.

I have thousands of those snails in my tank, lots of zoanthids, and no problems. Greenbean is correct here.
