I keep getting a red algae outbreak in certain parts of my tank. Any ideas?

Sounds like cyano. Are the outbreaks in lowflow areas? Can you give us more info? Pictures maybe too..? What are your parameters?

I have the same problem after 2mths of setting up. It was spreading on LR and LS. I do water changes weekly and siphoned stuff out if I can. It gone within four weeks.

How old is your tank?
