SPS growth with XM250w 20K

Please help:
So you think that SPS will grow slow with XM250W SE 20K?
How about with Ushio SE 250W 20K?
Your feedbacks are greatly appreciated.

Thanks

i think....i know that the sps will thrive under those bulbs....been running them for yrs with excellent results.....keep your ca andka on the sort of high side and feed. i run my lights 8 hrs in the summer and 10 in the winter...ofcourse i gradually make the change. i also run 44o watts of vho super actinics for 2 hr in the morn and 2 in the eve with some over lap. ive run everything from 6500 thru the 20k and have had good results with all..but i like the colors i get from the 20 xms....if you look around i think some of the big name sellers use them in their holding / grow out tanks.....good luck.

Growth will be faster with something closer to 10000k.
if you go that route you will have to sacrifice some color.

you will have growth no matter what...
It all depends on whether you think sacrificing some growth is worth looking at prettier colors in your corals.

Some people go the 10000k route for a year or two so they can grow out their sps tanks. then once theyve grown out, they'll change the bulbs to 20000k.

ive heard

Adding a high end reflector will help with growth rates.

I went from xm 10k to xm 20k nine months ago. Growth slowed probably 20 percent. Increase in color---WELL worth it.

Thanks all.

It is good to know.

I will change my Ballast to M80 which will have more PAR for XM20.
