Light brown growth in tank
Hi All
I have had a 90 gallon drilled tank in my living room and decided it needs more space. i removed what i had and aded more rock and sand, basically transplanted my 1 year old system into a 135 gallon tank with a bigger sump. Now i have a brown algae covering evrything and dont know what it is or what to do. here are some specs. 135 gallon tank 55 gallon sump 1200 gph return pump 140 lbs of live rock in tank 25 lbs of LR in sump mce 600 skimmer 2 250 watt MH lighting Any ideas????? |

Sounds par for the course. It won't be unusual to get some diatoms growing for a few days. Keep your water quality high and it will go away in no time. Skim- Skim -Skim....

Do you have any more flow... than the return? I would have no less than 30 times tank volume turn over. Maybe add a couple of Koralia 3's or 4's.

I had brown growth all over everything after the 3rd week. I just stirred it up with a net and let the skimmer/filter do the work.
