Had the same issue with mine I ended up selling it and getting an eheim now I can hear my TV. I have heard of ways to quiet it by putting some stuff underneith the pump but even lifting my pump off the glass bottom sump it was still very loud. I would honestly consider selling it and getting a quieter pump that does not use as much electric those pumps are energy hogs. I recommend ocean runner or eheim.

How is it plumbed, solid PVC or with some flexible tubing to break up vibrations and sound transmission? Is it internal or external? Is it sitting on rubber suction cups, a mouse pad or other soft material? Is the piping putting uneven stress on the pump or is it free to move about? These are all starters. Mags are known to be louder than other pumps for sure and also run hotter but I wouldn't scap it just yet.

I have used a cheap mosue pad before and it worked well. I have read wherte some people take a baggie partially filled with sand and set the pump on that. Others use silicone caulking on the feet of the pump bracket if it does not have rubber suction cups.
Anything to stop vibration.

What size tank is this Mag 18 on.

AZDesertRat I really think that these pumps are generally loud I mean i think that the smaller ones might be a little quieter but that mag 18 sounds like a tractor trailer under the tank.

I've used these for several different in sump pumps.
A couple of these siliconed together makes a great pad for a noisey pump.

You do happen to have one of the noisest return pumps I've seen. Mag pumps are very strong, but noisey.
I'd look into a larger eheim.
