Question What's attached to my puffer?

I know this is not a good picture, but I think you can see what I'm asking about. It's toward his tail and resembles a pink string that looks like it's coming out of his scales. Could this be an injury or a worm? This was not there yesterday when I fed, I just noticed it tonight. He's acting fine and eating. Can anyone help me out?

i would seriosly suspect a parasite of some kind

What kind of parasite? It actually looks almost like a bristle worm coming out of a little knot on his side. He's not acting weird or rubbing it or anything.

I looks like a bristle worm going in his skin. There is a bump where in goes in at. I don't understand this at all???

catch the fish get some tweezers and pull it off. out of the tank and throw away.
