Koralia Magnums #5-8
Just seen these on hydor's website, and I was wondering if anybody has one yet?

Marine depot has them on there site. $104-$153. I think I'm going to order one.
It looks like they fixed the gap on the propeller shaft. I wonder if these will be compatible with a reefkeeper2 or similar wavemaker? Either way 1600-3200gph isn't too shabby!

Yeah very impressive! If you get one, please keep us posted and post some pics of it in you're tank for size reference.

I can't decide which one to get. I have a 120 SPS tank in the works that I will use it in. I'm thinking two #5's on either end of the 120 would work good. Hard to decide when you can't get any feedback on something.

I plan to get three Magnum 8s for my 280 plus some Maxi-jet mods. I may get 4 Magnums if I have the cash.
I would get two 8s if I were you. That would give you about 54 x turnover and you could put one on each end of the tank and face them toward each other.

Sounds like a bit much at first, but the numbers make sense. Maybe four 5s? More possibilities for flow patterns...

Yes four 5s would work but you might be surprised how well two work when faced toward each other. Sometimes the flow from the two crashing together sends enough flow to all areas of the tank as long as it isn't overly packed with rock. If your tank is fully packed with rock and coral then four may work better for you.

I'm thinking four would give me more of a random flow with more placement options. The tank will be SPS only with a bare bottom. I know when I bought my #3s, I wished I got the #4s instead. I now have two 3s and two 4s and a maximod in my 65gal.

I saw the 5-8s at MACNA. They opened them up and had a much better shaft/propeller. Not nearly as prone to breaking.

How big were they? In the pics they look to be considerably larger than the standard koralias.
