Brown/Green algae
I am about three months into a new 30 long tank. I am beginning to have a brown and green algae problem. Is this normal? What can I do to control it? What type of fish, snails, or crabs would best handle this problem? I keep the temp in the tank around 78-79 degrees. I run the light for about 7-8 hours a day.
I also have 3 shrooms that love to just be on the sand. They will not stay on the rock, will they be ok? they seem to be real happy, but all the shrooms I ever look at whether they be in a friends tank or at a store are all attached to rocks. I am a beginner so any help would be greatly appreciated.

The algae is all a part of the cycling process so no worries. Just allow the tank time to mature and be sure to use ro/di water and not add in too much livestock at this time.
