toadstool
How do you know when a toadstool is dying.? Does anyone have a pic of it. I bought a toadstool like 3-4 days ago. there was two heads on a rock and not one had opened up yet. Well one started to open up until my damsel nipped on it. one of the toadstool is still producing some slimy thing. The color of the toadstool is grey. Is this normal?

They do close up from time to time and shed a waxy slime coat. I'd guess its still adjusting after the move. Even once settled it'll occasionally close up unexpectedly.
I wouldn't be worried yet. Some decent flow should help. Might want to blast it with a turkey baster to help it shed and then suck up whatever comes off so as not to irritate other corals it may land on.

When ever you think there is something dieing, always keep an eye on the nitrate levels. Check them every day. Also for parts or sections starting to deteriorate.
Also keep them away from any mushrooms. Even if they are not touching or....just close....The shrooms can use chemical warfare to kill the coral

Also keep in mind toadstools can put out a lot of nasty chemicals themselves. I have heard of people lossing every piece of hard coral present in a tank after fragging one of these corals.
