Zoa & Iodine supp

I know most (if not all) zoas need iodine suppliments. How much do they need? how do you put it in your tank? how often do you check? I assume there is a test kit?


I have NO idea how to take care of them - as i'm sure you can tell.

put a good light above them and dose nothing. Leading reef chemist Dr. Randy holmes-farley discusses it here

why do they always say iodine supp somewhere in the food/needs part of the description?

Because it sells product. However, when SPS, LPS, Mushrooms say they need stable calcium and alk. they do!!! From my understanding thats all thats really needed to be supplented. IMO

And to a lesser extent magnesium. That, cal and alk are the big 3 that one should be concerned about. Depending on the salt one uses, might not have to dose Mag all that often.
