HELP i.d. crab? new base rock..pics
just got two small peices of base rock today...and some kind of crab i think? hitched a ride on one of the peices

I wouldn't say Mithrax are "definately" bad. Lots of people on here have them in their reefs and FO set-ups with no problems at all. They are more.. "potentially" bad and even "possibly" good. I, personally, would wait to remove it and see how it plays out. They are very cool to watch, add diversity, and eat a ton of algae when you start getting it. Just my opinion mind you. If you don't want to risk it, see if your LFS wants them maybe for credit? They sell for like $5-$8 each in my area.

I think it might be a red mithrix, I had 3 small green emerald crabs and over time this one grew fastest and as he got bigger his color changed to red, I havent noticed him picking at any of my sps he just cleans my rocks and loves bubble algea, Than again i might just be a lucky one.
