Yes drip slow, best at night. watch your ph and hardness, so you know how much to use.

Drip into sump. Not directly into display tank.

what?!?!?!?
No... do not add it pure to your sump. The powder does not dissolve well, and you don't want the sediment settling in your sump, or getting shot into the display. I mix it up at 1 tsp per gallon in buckets, then add it to my top off reservoir. The kalk is then dosed as a liquid to the sump as my ATO unit tops off the tank. If you're just topping off manually. I would recommend using 2-part instead.

thanks everyone, i top off every 3 days with six gallons at once so i should either go with a ATO or 2 part solution(thats what ive been doing). im guessing that its a calcium shock to put it in with the six gallons of water.

No I wouldn't be concerned about the Ca jump... I'd be more worried about the effect on pH.
limewater carries a pH of around 12, so you could jump your pH quite a bit (depending on the size of the tank) by dumping 6 gallons of limewater in at once
