Blenny is going after my new Yellow Watchman goby?
This common? I was told they should be A ok together, but I had to put the Goby in a safety container because I felt it may get bad if I am not monitoring. I feel the first few days are crucial to acclimating so the less stress the better.
How should I go about this? The saddled Blenny is about 2-3 times its size, I think he is happy he can finally pick on someone. He was the last in line with 2 damsels running the show. I never saw the Blenny go after my damsels, nor does he go after my clowns. Any advice? I was thinking taking the Blenny back and getting a smaller one? Thanks, Ser Edit: I also rearranged my rock a bit today to make any territorial issues less. |

Before I bought my blenny I did some research that said you can't mix a blenny with similarly shaped fish or other blennies. Size is not the issue, but body type is. You might have to get rid of one of them. It's always a good idea to read up on a species before you buy.

Thank you.
I did read up, and used liveaquaria.com and others. I found all my results showing they should prove to be fine together. It makes total sense, and that was my first inclination, the shape similarity. Got to figure out how to get my saddled blenny out now....and I thought the damsels were hard!!!

Hey Ser. I sort of did the same thing. Did my homework.
Asked Qs. and got a bi. color blenny. Perfect for reef tanks. Non aggressive. This fish was a PAIN... I have a 90 with a good sized reef. The B. spent all its time stressing fish and eating corals. Keep the watchman, return the B... all the best dbr |
