Still worrying about my pistol shrimp/goby combo

SOme of you may have read my post yestereay..And today, same thing!

It's only a twelve gallon tank (20 pounds LR/ about a 3-4 inch sandbed), yet, since putting the pair in two days ago..I haven't seen anything..

How can they bbe hiding this well! I want to see them!

Gar, patience is the hardest thing about this hobby, i swear...

Does anyone else have stories like these? Personal, or that you've heard of?

Any condolence that this is in fact quite common would be helpful.

I have a pair in, granted, a 75 gallon and barely ever see them...even though I know where their cave is. They hide very well. Give it time.

My pistol is like a muppet, he will just randomly pop his head out of a crevice then quickly retreat, I never see his backside though.

try to coax the goby out with some food. You can usually catch them popping out when you are sitting away from the tank. they are very shy....

When I bought my goby and shrimp. The goby kept getting stuck in the overflow. Eventually the goby went to far down and I can not get him out. I think I saw him in my sump. I always see my pistol shrimp out around the tank grabbing shells and dragging them to his burrow. I tested him to make sure he was still alive a while back about the second week I had him, by grabbing all the empty shells in the tank and putting them in the center the next day they were all outside his burrow and since then I can see his antennae sticking out.

Checked the floor..Wouldn't do much good, i have a nano cube. Tight hood and all.
Again, thanks to the nano..no overflow..So i think I should be good there.
I have no idea where the burrow is..
And it doesn't seem the goby is ever out.
Blegh..I'm just worried they found a super secluded spot to burrow, one where I'll never see them...Hard to imagine as it is.

When my firefish goes hiding in my NC, I cant find him most of the time. I'm not sure about your tank, buy there are alot of areas in mine that I can not see. I'm sure they are there, just hiding.

yeah, it's wierd..Apparently there's alot of places i can't see that i didn't even know about.

On a lighter note. Rearranged some rock last night. Saw the Yasha, he's fine. Didn't see the pistol shrimp, but the guy is so small that i didn't expect to. Did get woken up by al oud pop at 5 i nthe morning though (tank is right by my bed), so i'm not too worried about him either.
