Refractometer ?

I followed the directions . I looked up at the light , but I don`t see blue or white line . I`m using distilled water . Help and thank`s .

distilled water would presumable by at 1.000 or there abouts depending on calibration. try adding some salt to it and give it a whirl.

Put the water back in and turn the calibration screw. It may just be turned to far up or down putting the line off the scale. When you look into the refractometer is the color you see totaly white or blue? If yes, the screw is more than likely turned to far.The line your looking for is the line between the two colors. If the color is all blue turn the screw counter clockwise. If the color is all white turn the screw clockwise. Hope this helps a little.
