can i...

i got this nice rock well nice shape from my LFS and i was wondering if i could put it in th back of my toilet so it can cure in there. i know fresh water will kill whats on it but thats the thing there is nothing on it its bleach white. so can it let it cure in the back of my toilet for a couple weeks and then put it in my tank with no ill effects?

i wouldnt.. i would think the FW would kill the bacteria.. i question why your LFS is selling un-cured rock???

all rock comes in uncured..if you are seting up a new tank uncured it the way to go..If the rock is not shiped in water then it need to be cured no matter what the online or shop says

no thats not true.. if your lfs has the rock with a skimmer it should be cured.. you always want to buy cured rock to add to a tank thats up and running

it still takes a few week to cure even with a skimmer..and i did not say put it in a up and running tank i said a new tank

it sounds like his tank is up and running.. again i would ask the LFS how long its been there etc.. but either way i wouldnt put it in my toilet..

Doesn't some of the rock become uncured when it is brought home from the LFS cause of the die off of some of the inhabitants living in it?????????

yes some does but it all depends on how its packed and how far of a drive to get home

you could use a trash can to cure if your really worried about. or a 5 gal bucket etc..
