kinda simple

placed this in diy also:

whats the best way to make a nice black background....i was thinking painting it but, i do not want to leave streaks?? and a black back ground they have a the lfs seems to let salt creep in or behind it right?---and or air bubbles? how do you all get a nice black background ?

My main reef is painted...no streaks. For my mantis tank, I used removal limo tint. Viewed from the front, it looks completely black. If you spray enough of the solution on there air bubbles can easily be squeegied out.

coroplast, black plastic honeycomb material made for signs. Any sign store can get you a sheet pretty quickly, and when I bought it a few years ago it was ~$20 for a 4'x8' sheet. I velcroed it in place behind the overflows, and it comes off very easily for maintenance (though in the 2 years, I've never had to clean it for salt creep).

It does not matter how you paint the back of a tank you will not see streaks.

I have also painted the back of tank and you cannot see the streaks...
