Price check, need help
I have gotten the best deal in my area for a full 100 gallon setup from all the LFS's near me. These are the lowest prices I got, what you all think?
100G Rectangle acrylic clear for life with black back and center overflow and holes drilled. $400 Black stand and canopy together average $648 VHO lighting fixture retrofit 4X48" $334 VHO bulbs $84 ERO Jager heater $45 50 pounds sand $40 Pump "mag drive" $90 90 gallons Salt Oceanic $30 G-2 Protein skimmer $342 100 pounds LR at $4.99 per pound. Add a misc $200 for digital thermometer and power center plumbing and etc. Total of everything except fish and coral: $2,713 Now I am going to cross reference online prices like reef geek and aquacave because I know I have seen the g-2 skimmer for less, "I got mine for $100 used and made it run like new" Heaters, power center, etc. But if you all can tell me what you think. I have a customer that wants to start and he wants to start at about the 100 gallon range. Would you all advise this or would it be safer and better to start lower somewhere around a 75 or 60.

ReefGeek seems to be more expensive and does not offer free shipping. Aquacave total plus the stand and canopy and tank and rock and sand at above prices dropped the ending price down to $2,330 almost a $400 difference. I got a %20 off of stand and canopy so that also drops the price total down to $2,200

That's not too bad for a LFS. You could have probably found it cheaper online but then got killed with multiple shipping. I don't mind paying a little more to keep the LFS in business. It's nice to actually go somewhere to see the fish your buying or new products.

Yeah, on aquacave they are listed for like $240 and I bought mine from an LFS for $100 used but spent 30 minutes with it and it looks and runs perfect. As far as a 100 gallon goes, should I tell this guy to go smaller or what? Because you all know a 100 gallon isn't a cake walk for upkeep. Unless he is going to pay me weekly to take care of it.
