Is my clam ok???

I have a crocea clam, have had it for over a month. Its been doing really well, mantle is always out and extends past the shell. Last friday when I got home from work i noticed my lights didnt come on all day (I think my pc's are the only lights that came on). The clam had lost its foot, the clam was on the sand bed attached to a small piece of rubble. The foot was still on the rubble but the clam was not. I picked it up and the foot was not attatched anymore. Do you think my clam is ok, he still looks good, comes out and closes when you put your hand over it. Is there anything I can do?

THanks,

Josh

Is it's mouth gaping open or is it closed?

If it's reactive to light and the mouth isn't gaping opened I'd say it's ok. Keep an eye on it and make sure your calcium levels are in check.

If you notice and snails or hermits coming over to pick around it then i'd say it's dying because scavengers can usually tell when it's time to start picking...

It may have detached to try and move closer to the dimmer light. Dont bother it for a while let it find it's new location. Watch carefully for any changes
