American Marine Pinpoint pH Monitor and Sybon Refractometer feedback

I am considering purchasing a American Marine Pinpoint pH Monitor and Sybon Refractometer.

Does anyone have positive or negative feedback on these products?

For the pH monitor, is it best to use it for spot checks or to leave on continuously?

What solution is best used to calibrate these devices?

I like the Pinpoint PH Controller I have owned for the last year. It has been pretty reliable.

To calibrate my refractometer I use American Marine Pinpoint Salinity Calibration Fluid.

Do you just put the probe in the sump and let it run continuously?

How do you know when you have to replace the probe?

Is this the solution that you use? http://www.bigalsonline.ca/BigAlsCA/...tionfluid530ms

I leave the probe in the display, but I have a controller. I don't think there are any issues with keeping the monitor probe in constantly. I think this one is supposed to be capable. You would need the A/c adapter.

I replaced my probe when the reading was jumping around and never staying constant. My first probe lasted about 9 mos with occasional cleaning.

Yes, that's it. Just drip some on the meter and set it to 1.0259
