HOB refuge?

I need a HOB refuge and my cpr skimmer has leaked at times at the joints. Anyone found a really good quality system of this situation? (HOB) A little scared of using cpr again.

The AquaFuge isn't bad for those with limited space/options. It's on the pricey side for the size, but you can still setup a nice fuge with some rubble and cheato.

I don't know from personal experience, but the octopus extreme skimmers come with a media compartment (think it's the octopus 300, but you'll need someone else to confirm) and I suppose you could just put chaeto in there if your only intention is to provide a safe haven for pods and such.

Alternatively, you could buy a nice skimmer (the octopus extreme HOB skimmers get great reviews) and mod your own HOB fuge out of an aquaclear filter. Very easy to do and fairly cheap.

It is fairly easy to make a HOB fuge cheaply. This link is something a local reefer did for 5.5, of course you could make it alot bigger. http://reefcentral.com/forums/showth...readid=1463006
