Bigger tank?

I am looking to get a bigger reef tank than the 90 I have now. Im wondering, Would a 210 be easier to maintain than a 120. Im thinking the more water to delute unwanted chemicals such as no2, NH3/NH4 and so forth, the unwanted levels would not rise as fast, therefore. Less water changes would be needed. Any thoughts ?

a 210 would be more stable in the long run ( more water volume) but i would still do frequent ( bi weekly or monthly depending) water changes to replace trace elements and to "refresh the system. All of my corals look great after a water change.

while 210 would be easier to maintain than a 90, water changes are going to be annoying...dosing would also probably have to be in higher concentrations, and cleaning it would probably be a pain too...:P

but wow..upgrading...aren't we in a recession? :P

your stocking of a tank that big will figure in as well. If you have reasonably stocked tank, no matter the size, you're going to need water changes to keep it looking good IMO. Toxins from corals build up and fish are constantly peeing and pooping.

I personally would love a 210 or 225, but the others have a point. I'm fairly tall and I have to stand on my tippy toes to reach the bottom of my 180. God forbid you should drop something near the back. Get out the step stool. Now, add 6 more inches of height to that, get out the step stool, mask, and snorkle....

Go with the 300. More water = more fun.
