Sorry for the late reply.
no no tthe one who suggested the Eheim although it is a good pump. Your fish selection looks to be interesting hope it works out fine with the multiple tangs. How are your 3 yellows behaving any aggression betewen them? Quote:

and I'm finally starting to get some skim after 3 weeks or so of trying to figure out how to use a real skimmer (any help or advice would be much appreciated) ... before I had it in way too much water, I now have it at 9 inches, it's recommended at 8 to 10. I have what I guess you would call a gate valve a little more than halfway closed. I'm finding this helps to keep more water in the skimmer column to help push the bubbles, rather than having the valve wide open and the water levels being the same... this is where I could use some advise...

Nice setup! How is your algal growth with the tank being in front of the window?

a few more pics...
ok, so I decided to go against my thoughts of just keeping fish from hawaii as I added my coral Beauty Angel I had in QT for almost 2 months... I was going to trade him in along with the scopas tang i still have. However after much thought, I decided to keep him. After all, I think he's quite a good looking fish an by now he's should be nice and parasite free...
an idea of some of the colors so far... even though my photos stink... and a couple more... just for kicks... |

I like it... even though I don't have the lighting yet and probably wont for at least another few months... and i will not be adding alot of rock... nice size tank for not having a that big of a tank... my tangs have quite a bit of room... if I made the decion again, I would have gotten a standard 180 for the extra foot... still, I'm pretty satisfied...

you already know how I feel about pics... so here's some more...
So after pondering adding my scopas tang which has been in QT for some time now, i decided to add him into my Display. Along with my 3 yellow tangs... I've heard much debate and though my yellows have only been there 5 weeks, I've understood that they will not get along... I thought I'd try just the same... there has been absolutly no conflict since a few hours into the first day, which was about 10 days ago... my scopas is a bit bigger than my yellow's too... so I assume that helped... but here's some pics of him/her...
I am considering finding a new home for my convict so I may add a purple tang, which i am going to do, just not sure I'm gonna give up my convict... though he is quite the waste producer... anyways, enjoy the pics!!! Neal in Orcutt, CA |
