Question Ordering Lights Tomorrow, ?

Just want to make sure all sounds good and if anyone would CHANGE anything...

Going on my 90g,

^^^

2x 250w DE 14k Phoenix Bulbs
2x 250w IceCap Ballasts
2x 250/400w IceCap Pendants,

I want a pretty blue look, with awesome coloration without the use of actinics, which is why I picked the Phoenix's if someone has a better idea let me hear it! Also, how does everyone like the above ballasts and pendants?!?!

Please dont be afraid to post im ordering tomorrow and I dont want to be dissappointed

Any specific reason your going with icecap pendants over say lumenarc.

I run an Ice Cap pendant - and I like it. I run a SE pendant with a 20k Radium bulb. But I've heard good things about the Phoenix 14k.

I would use Lumenbright reflectors, go with Single Ended bulbs, and use a Radium 20k....

That being said, I've been using 250w IceCap eballasts, 2x Luminarc mini SE reflectors, and have tried 10k Reeflux, 10k XM, and 14k Hamiltons. I can get away with all the 10ks because I've got 4x110w VHOs also. I just ordered my new replacement bulbs though since my 10k Reeflux are getting old and their blue hue is gone and they look flat and boring, so I'm going with 250w Radiums. I'm very excited because I see how many tanks get superawesome coloration out of the Radiums, not to mention that it doesn't make the tank look yellow either (they should be somewhere between blue and crisp white since I'm not sure how they'll be on the new style IceCap.).

Another thing worth mentioning is perhaps you should look at buying your items on Ebay and use the live.com promotion to get 30% back. I did it last night when ordering my new radiums, so I ended up all said and done paying $47 per bulb for NEW 250w radiums. Google ebay live.com promo and see if you can find directions for it. A lot of items take 60 days to give you the 30% back, however I bought the lights from hellolights' ebay store, and I got the cashback this morning. I've got other purchases that I won't see the money for another 58 days or so.

Let us know how you like the new lighting setup!

I think the radiums 20k and luminarc/lumenbright reflectors would be the way to go

how are the reef optix 3 pendants over icecap?

I looked into the lumenarcs, cant seem to find much info about them? and the ballast thing looks weird, if someone can link me maybe I can look into it,

I've heard things about Reef Optix 3's too though, how are those?

I would do the lumenbright pendants if you have room. The icecap look like old school spider reflectors and the newer stuff (lunmenarc/lumenmax/lumenbrights) have proven to give superior par values.

You might want to read this thread: http://reefcentral.com/forums/showth...readid=1482800

I ended up with the Lumenmax reflectors and blueline ballasts and 20K 200 XMs. It's bright and warm, but beautiful.
