HELP!attachong monti cap

sorry i just need a quick answer i just bought crazy glue gel and a small monti cap and need to attach it . its acclimating as we speak.how do i do it will it bond under water ?or should i take the rock out? and how long should the cap be out of water will it get damaged?thaks in advance

If you can take the rock out, all the better, but you don't have to. Take the monti, put a good glob of glue on the spot you want on the rock, and put it in the water on the rock. If you have the rock out of the water, just do the same thing. The coral can be out of water for a number of minutes (as many as 10 if you must, but under 5 is no real concern) so long as it doesnt dry out (so don't put it by the fan or anything).

ok thanks its done i took the rock out and it set in about 2 minutes worked great

Good to hear! My wife always chastises me for the volume of superglue that I buy at the grocery store, but it does work well.

I like Gel superglue it seems to work better.

Gel only. The liquid is PITA. Also, I've mounted montis on the back wall of the tank for a shelf effect. Blennys love to perch on it.

Do the montis themselves encrust onto whatever surface they were originally glued to?

yea thanks . i bought the gel and it worked great, very easy.i just mounted it on a 3 inch piece of live rock. i originally wanted to mount it on my main large piece of liverock but didnt want to take the whole thing out

put some globs of glue on, dip it in the water then glob some more glue on and hold it against the rock. It's much easier to use a lot of glue and get it mounted on the first try.

yes, they will encrust over whatever you glue them to. Well plugs/rock...
