Question transitioning from 130W PC's to 300W MH for a 36g mixed tank?

So I currently have two 65 W PC's (one 10K and one 20K). I just got a 2-150W (14K) fixture that will be mounted 3" from water's surface (sunpod by current). My tank is 20" deep, 30" long, 15" wide (36g tall bow front). I have the popular acropora, monti, acans, yumas, and many mushrooms. My current light cycle is 12hrs for the 10K and 14hrs for the 20K, with the PC's.

So I plan to place my yuma's and sensitive corals in the shade on the very bottom, and the rest of the mushrooms on the bottom in the light (22" from lights).

So where should I put the acros, monti, and acans? Also how long should the light cycle be initially, and then in the next few weeks? Any other advice on transitioning?

Well it sounds like your worried about photosensitive acclimation. So first go and grab a beer. Second I would eat a big mac or two. And third, but most important, reduce the lighting period from 12 hours to 7 hours a day. Add a half an hour every two days until you reach your total lighting period.

You are going from about 5000lux to about 30,000 lux, so you should be reducing the time if your worried.

Its a good idea to have a refrence sample for alk test kits. 1.1350 grams of baking soda in 1gallon of distilled water=10dkh. Check your alkalinity test kit!
