Looking for input on a new pump.
Hey Gang,
I am looking for suggestions on a new pump. Here are the requirements I need. 1" or 1.5" input/output. Performs decent in pressure situations. Not very loud. I have a closed loop system on my new tank. The pump sits under the stand, on top of the pump sits an Oceans Motion 8 which feeds 8 outlets through the bottom of my tank (barebottom system). My current pump is a Tunze Master Recirc and the water barely flows out. Roger, from Tunze, told me that they are not for pressure situations. A Dart probably won't do it either. Any other suggestions? Thanks, Sean

Reeflo has pressure rated pumps in the UNO series.
They are large pumps though and I wouldnt call them quiet. I have a Wahoo which is about 1700 or 1800 GPH, pressure rated. 1.5" in and ... 1" out I think (not using it at present). But they have stronger pumps in the series. I use a Panworld PS150 as my main pump and I like it. Not too large, Good pump, not silent but fairly quiet, pressure rated but only 1100 GPH. Also, only warm to the touch, doesnt run hot. I know they have a 250PS but that one is only 1900 GPH. But you may want alot more flow than that for the 8 way OM. |

Thanks, I will check both those lines out.
With the OM 8 way only two holes are open at a time so I don't need a ton of flow.

I have a Dolphin, 8 years runs from the front of my house to the back of the house in the basement (1200 square foot joint). My sump is a 250gallon trouph with a 75 gal refug and a 250gal bowfront plummed. It's the 5400, that's all that runs the up and down part.
