Ready for a sump

First, if there is already a thread please link it, as I could not find a thread on recommended sump/overflows. I've never dealt with a sump and am ready for my first. I have a 75 gallon tank that is not drilled, and had been toying with an overflow (was afraid of losing siphon) but think it will be worth my while to upgrade. Are there any "kits" that would include all that is needed? I had considered converting a small tank for this, but i'm not a DIY person. I had seen some sumps that appeared to be lexan or the like, and would rather go that route than glass. My main problem is not knowing what all parts i'll need to buy and that is why I was looking for a kit of sorts.

a lot of options for sumps. Take a look at some of the RC sponsors on the main forums page. Marinedepot.com, 2Drs, etc.

For overflows there are three that I see on here a lot. CPR and Eshopps both have pretty good followings. Lifereef is generally considered the best overflow, but expensive. Search on here for any of them and you'll find a lot of feedback.

I found this link very helpful when designing/building the sump for my 72G tank.

http://www.reefkeeping.com/issues/20...wbie/index.php

You may find a predesigned sump very difficult to get under your tank depending on the stand. Most are meant to be dropped in from the top before the tank is placed on and will not fit in through the front doors if there is a middle support.

You may surprise yourself with you DIY ability. I had a lot of fun designing and building my sump (that is really geeky, isn't it?).

Good luck.
