Protein Skimmer water color

Hi guys,
As of last night I started using the skimmer that comes with the nano cube..not the best skimmer however, I noticed this morning the cup is collecting a reddish pinkish water....is this normal??......I have been reading and apparently the color of the water in the cup should be like a ginger ale or weak tea color....

It's gonna vary from tank to tank. Generally, darker output means it's more concentrated. If you can see through it with total ease, you might want to raise the cup (and/or lower the water level) to run it a bit drier.
