Need Advise

I need some advise, I did a water change fri and within a few hours the tank went cloudy and by today i cant see but a few inches into the tank. I tested the water parmas and all are good.
I did notice there is alot of fiber like things allover the LR and there is a horriable smell comming from the tank since Sat. The skimmer pulls a slimmy thick goo not like watery before this event. All livestock are alive . The sump is also full of this clear or white slime.

Any help woud be thankfull

Hard to say, did you add any supplements? Calcium maybe? If you notice a foul smell I would recommend another water change, it would help if you llisted your parameters as well as what equipment you have on the tank.

Talk us through how you did the water change. That sounds very strange, and personally I don't even have a good guess. It may very well just be coincidence that this happened right after your water change, but if there's an issue with the water change itself, doing another one the same way is probably the last thing you want to do. Here are some of the specific things I'd want to know:

- What was your water source (tap water, RO, RO/DI, etc.)?
- If you were using tap water, how did you dechlorinate it?
- How did you mix your salt?
- How long did you mix the salt?
- How did you test the salinity/specific gravity?
- How was the salt water stored (type of container and location)?
- How did you add the water to the tank?

The answer may very lie somewhere I haven't covered in the questions above, so just take us through what you did step by excrutiating step.

Sounds a bit like a bacteria outbreak. Missing any livestock lately?

Hey she is the one that added the "Pretty fish".

By now it is pretty much decomposed. Just do some large water changes and give it a couple more days. Once the food source is consumed the bloom will disappear as fast as it started.

If you have a tank vac I'd siphon that film off. I'd do four 20 gallon water changes over the next week and hopefully the bloom will be over by the last one. The water changes not only help quell the bloom but also lessen any algae outbreak that can follow a bacteria bloom. Watch your fish for breathing difficulty as a bloom can reduce tank oxygen levels. If that happens increase circulation to provide more turbulence in the tank.
