Calling those with 1" thick aquariums.
Which magnet do you use?
|I am leaning towards the Great White. \It says 3/4" to 1" so it seems 1" is on the outer limits. If you use the Great White, does it hold good and firm or does it separate if you vigorously swipe it about. What other magnets are out there for aquariums this thick? My Piranha Float just doesn't cut it anymore.

I use great whites on mine..........I called the guy, can't remember his name that owns algae free, he built me huge inside pieces so it cleans like 2x's faster because the surface area of the mags on the inside are bigger than standard, did that for no extra charge
My tank is 1" thick and the sides are 1.25" thick and the great white does great, never falls off on me, course I don't go at it like a crazed maniac but I get it wiped fast. C

I also use the Great White for my 1 inch acrylic tank. It has plenty of strength.

I use the tiger shark on my 3/4" thick glass (recommended from 5/8 to 3/4, so the same story as you just one step down), and it's amazingly strong. If the great white is at all similar, you'll be very happy.

I use the Magnavore 8. My acrylic is 1" thick. I was considering buying the Magnavore 10 instead. Its the same size just stronger magnets. Thank goodness I didn't, its still a workout with the 8

Mag-Floats come in acrylic and glass versions. You just need to buy the right one.
Side note: with any mag cleaner you need to make sure both pieces are clean before pulling it across your scratchless veiwing surface AND do use a wet towel between the outside mag and the acrylic to prevent scratching and reduce friction. |

I remember his name now LOL I think it's Mark, great guy......I love buying from a small time company, it's nice to call up and the guy that answers the phone designs, builds, packs and takes care of you so there is no run-a-round.
