Bare bones QT set up !

Well this jubject comes up every time we have a problem with tank aditions . I have a 25 and plans for the 75 gal . I want simple set up that will work . Do you QT corals too I only have softies and mushrooms.

simple, well live rock, flow and skimmer, thats simple, as for qt corals, i dont, but probably should

A barebones QT would be :
20 gallon used tank
Sponge filter or a hang on back style of a power filter
Heater
Ammonia Indicator
Small powerhead
Thermometer
A few pieces of PVC for the fish to hide in or behind to feel secure.
