Places in Florida for collecting????
Is their anywhere in florida that has a good beach to see coral? I plan on taking a RV trip down. I am looking for a place that you could possibly collect some items such as hermits and starfish.
It does not have to be in Florida. |

The only place in FL to see coral reefs is in the Keys.
If you just want to collect sea creatures then there are tons of places. I go to Ft. Desoto park in the Tampa/St. Pete area to collect snails. We have also caught sea horses, pipefish, and all kinds of crabs. The only thing we keep are the nassarius snails. Just make sure you can id the stuff you catch. There are plenty of bad crabs and many predatory snails that you will run across. Also keep in mind that you need a FL saltwater fishing license to keep anything and there are limits. |

What about if you are under 16. Do I still need a license for collecting?
A specific location would be helpful. Thank You.
