Mixing Tang Species?
I am working on stocking my 125g, and tangs are my ultimate favorite.
Presently I have a purple and a scopas and they get along great. Both are Zebrasoma's. Can I add one Paracanthurus tangs (Hippo, Regal?), and one Ctenochaetus (Bristletooth Tomini), and one Acanthurus (PBT)? I know same species tangs can be an issue, but what a mix like this? |

it really depends on the specimen as many can get along fine while some just start trouble

That's a LOT of fish for a 125 in my experience. I assume this is a reef? Could be an intense bioload as well. While it's true that adding surgeonfish from different genera can be done with success, ultimately it's up to the particular fish personality, and I think you'd be pushing your luck with 5 in a 125 gallon setup.
