A picture request

I just got a 90g with internal overflow that I will be setting up this week and moving stuff over from my hex.

Im looking for pictures of rock work that hides the overflow. Doesnt matter if it is a 90g, bigger or smaller, just rock work built up hiding the overflow.

This will be the first time I try this so any pointers on how I should attach the rock or should I just pile it up?

if I have to do this I use egg-crate and attach rocks with black electrical wire straps (do not know if this is the correct expression - as no native English speaker) and Reef bond where applicable.

Does not consume too much room (especially in a smaler tank)

I think Markus is talking about what are called zip ties in the US, I agree, they work very well. You can also use aquarium safe two part epoxy like Reef Bond or Aquastik. The zip ties will be cheaper and if done right more secure, while allowing for more flow too, as the epoxy doesn't seem to be very porous.

whatever it is called in the US, we use it for fixing several electrical cables together - and its available in differnt coulers but mostly white and black - whereas the black one is the most resistant in saltwater.
I use them when the rocks have holes or are shaped in such a way that the fixture with the zips is easy and if done in a good manner most of the time the zip is invisible from the front. With this method you even can fix somethimes a second or third rock on the egg crate without anything else than the other fixed rocks.
Where this does not fit I use the Reef Bond cement - which is much stronger than two part epoxy sticks.
So it is still a very open structure (compared if you glue rocks on a massive plastic plate).

Yep. Zip ties. I have never used in in any kind of tank build so this may be fun haha

Hello Jason,

found another thread of a guy doing the same with some good pictures. The only difference in my rockwork is that I avoid of the ties beeing visible as much as possible. As the link was taken out of a thread in the DIY forum dealing with using foam I guess this guy will use foam as well to later fill the gaps and eventually hide the ties. That I do not like....
