which skimmer is best
Hi everyone, can someone tell me which skimmer would be better for my 34g solana. I know that tunze makes a kick butt skimmer but can someone tell me if sapphire aqautics also puts out a good skimmer?
tunze9002 or Sapphire Solana/Cardiff Nanoskimmer url for sapphire aquatics skimmer details: http://sapphireaquatics.com/onlinest...&products_id=3 please advise

Most of what I've heard about the Sapphire skimmers has been negative. Of course, I've also heard some glowing reviews, but they seem to come from people who have never owned a skimmer before, so I'm not sure how much stock I put into most of those. You may want to ask in the Nano tank forum. There are a lot of people there who have personal experience with Sapphire skimmers.
According to the info on the skimmer you have linked, it's the same as the NC24, which I believe is the skimmer many people were using on their 12 and 24g nano tanks and overall very unhappy with its performance on those smaller tanks. Personally, I'd spend the extra money and go with the Tunze. Octopus also has what's supposed to be a pretty good HOB skimmer (I'm guessing you don't have a sump). I'm not sure how the price compares to the Tunze.
