Help my firefish!

I have 2 firefish - both were added to my 75 gal tank 4 days ago; it seems clear that 1 is bullying the other - he keeps the weaker guy at bay at the top of the tank when the lights are on (for some reason, he seems to leave him alone when there is only dim lighting even though they're both out and swimming)-

I notice that my weaker guy is missing the flesh on his "fin" above his body -

any advice?

Separate the weak one and keep on eye on him until he heals. place in your QT setup or refugium. then once he is all good, turn off the tank lights and add him (reduces stress and visibility) good luck

How long would he take to heal? I'm new to this, so I'm a bit nervous about maintaining water quality, etc. in a QT.
Won't the agressive one attack again as soon as I put the weak one back in?

Unless they are a mated pair or in a very huge tank...you will eventually endup with one(from my understanding..i only have one so no personal experience with 2)

We were so sorry to hear of the death of your scopas tang! Its hard to lose a family member.
We're sure you were careful not to crush it on purpose while rearranging your rock for 10 hours. You were probably attempting to create the "perfect arch" or something.
Just remember he is in a better place now. Hopefully the firefish doesn't join him there.

my guess is that you have 2 males, and there fighting for teritory, i would say either seperate tanks, or take one back, some lfs's will let you return it or trade it for another fish.good luck with yor Firefish
