Flow Question - Flow Accelerators on SCWD
I am in the process of upgrading my 75 sps reef and currently have a mak4 pushing water from a basement sump. I was planning on most of my circulation by a set of tunze 6025 mods, but recently began looking into using Flow accelerators on a 3/4 SCWD. I figure I have about 600 gph from the pump as it is throttled back to make the sound of the overflow a little more tolerable. Anyone done this? If it increases the flow by 2X or more that would be 1200 gph +. Would this be enough flow for sps and a shallow sand bed?

Surely someone uses a scwd w/ a penductor? I have heard a little about 1" ones but not the 3/4".

I have a SQWD and penductors on my closed loop - works great
stick with the 3/4" one with that flow rate the big one needs at least 900 and even then it wants more flow to work properly

Thanks for the update. Any idea how much flow i would get? I push about 700 gph now. Sorry for all the questions, I just have things going in the right direction now and don't want another setback.
