Hitchhiker ID please

I tried to find my peppermint shrimp and found this guy instead. Bristleworm? Good? Bad? Any info is appreciated. Tank has some zoos and an open brain. Just want to make sure this never appearing worm won't eat any of them.

That's good to hear, but could one of you elaborate please? I'm always finding SOMETHING new and it freaks me out every time.

It looks like a bristle worm to me , a harmless detrivore and a good part of your clean-up crew. If you really want to freak out look with a flashlight a couple of hours after lights out. A red lens on the light will help to not frighten the critters and a magnifying glass will help , have fun !!!

Thanks for the links! Interesting what you can get for free even if you don't want to..I just went to take a second look and he has now poked out about 4-5 inches! I can only wonder how much more of him is still in my rock.

I have noticed as well some featherduster type tubing on my rock. I figured they were just encrusted there and I never noticed any inhabitants of them. However a few days ago I found about a half inch chuck of white fleshy material on my sand bed. A few days later I noticed this same white fleshy material coming from the encrusted tubes. Nothing colorful or feathery about them though.

PS Not sure if it's my browser of everyone's, but my picture was a lot smaller when uploaded and even when viewed the first few times and has now super sized itself. I apologize for such large size.
