best way to transfer substrate?
i have about 80 lbs of sand in my display tank ..i am upgrading to a 150..what is the best way to transfer the sand..should i rinse it with some saltwater first?

dont rinse it!!!you will kill bacteria...
i scooped mine out into 5G buckets, and transported it.

Actually, I would only use top 1" of the existing sand and put new sand at the bottom of the new tank. The sand below 1" has lots of bacteria and they mess up the cycling when transferred to new tank IMO.

I'm with simon. I would just use a little to seed the new substrate in the new tank.
