Our new 180 gallon reef

Ok, here it is, our 180 reef. We are new to reefs but hardly new to fishkeeping. I hope to keep a record of the timeline of the development of our reef.

It was set up on January 2, 2009 and is in the process of cycling. We have added 200lbs of live sand and 200lbs of Fiji Live rock. underneath is a 55 gallon refugium. Asm skimmer and a second temp skimmer to get through cycling. Two mag 9.5 pumps returning through ocean clear filters. 18w turbo twist sterilizer. We will be using Koralias for water movement and we will be going with HO T'5s. We through in some damsels for something to look at while cycling. We have started to see some light brown algae on the sand and rocks. We are still waiting for an ammonia spike!!! when I figure out how to get a picture up, you can see it

I am also setting up a 180 tank. How deep is the 200 lbs of sand? Oh and no picture is showing up.

Pictures would be great! If nothing else you could try uploading the pictures to a site like photobucket and linking them back here.

Where are you trying to upload them at? Try to use photobucket.
